I've been to this location multiple times and always have delicious donuts! Make sure and get there at a reasonable time because they might run out of your favorite donut if you get there too late.

We were driving from GA to CO and really wanted donuts in MO. We looked an Yelp and found Lamar's. OMG!!!! So incredible. The map showed it about 2 miles off the interstate but it was very close to the interstate. Even if it was 2 miles off we would go back! The texture of the donuts is difficult to describe. Cake or sweetbread like. Moist. The frosting was awesome and not dry. The cherry filling was the best I have ever had. Not that light red jelled stuff. If you get the chance...GO!!

Lamar's donuts taste the same at any location; delicious. But the store on 7 hwy is very high volume compared to the one I was used to LS. Some varietals sell out quickly. I've never visited without a line, but I've also only been on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Lamar's donuts. Funny how this location sits kind of out of the way, down 7 highway, near a Thai restaurant. The thing is, it always has a steady stream of people, and the donuts are top notch. The apple fritter (my favorite), is the size a small dinner plate, with chunks of apple, and a glaze that only Lamar's can produce. Almost every other bite has a chunk of apple. The caramel long Johns, divine. And, they are long, as well, with not just an old dried up donut texture, but they are so luscious. Can a donut be luscious? The blueberry, with the Lamar's glaze, is amazing in your mouth. The blueberries are throughout, and if you only buy one, you'll wonder why you didn't buy two. German chocolate tastes like a German chocolate cake. 1/2 is enough for me, if that. The topping is caramel, with nuts, oh so good. The coconut frosted, with white frosting is a cake donut, but it is heaven, and if I am going to blow my diet, it is with this morsel of heavenly goodness that I eat. The donut holes are not old, dried up donut holes, but are fresh, often warm, and good. Again, with the Lamar's glaze applied lightly to each one. Sometimes I think this location is a work of culinary artistic virtue that is evident with each bite of diet blowing donut consumed. Only Big Momma's at Crown Center tops this location. The donuts are always fresh,and you can smell the things from the parking lot. They have one table on the outside, and one on the inside. You can also buy coffee, milk, and soda drinks.

My last visit to Lamar's was the downtown location in the mid 90's. Since then, I've been dedicated to road trips that feature donut shops on the list of Great American Donut Shops. Lamar's did not disappoint! The glazed donuts were warm, which is always a great sign. Give the old-fashioned, sour cream donuts a try.
